Shoe Box Accounting

Our bookkeeping services are tailored to suit your needs. Although we use the Shoebox metaphor to suggest that all records are set aside in a Shoebox until processed, we do not expect clients to do so.  However, if it suits your needs, we will even supply the Shoebox.

We have created three categories of service. We call them Cash Control, Full Bookeeping, and Full Accounting. The categories are offered in increasing complexity depending on your individual business needs and we pride ourselves in not pushing what is not needed.

Cash Control

Fax, email or upload to us your bank statements, sales and cheque details and credit card statements each month

• We code your statements to the appropriate accounts and tax code
• We reconcile your bank statements and credit card statements
• We convert this information into crucial financial reports (including BAS)
• We notify you of any suspect transactions
• We use a checklist so that nothing is missed
• We conduct phone meetings
• Free online support and resources

While no doubt this is the cheapest and easiest method to go with keep in mind the onus is on you to supply all the supporting documentation. This means keeping receipts and sale invoices for a period of at least six years from the start of the current tax year.

Also working from bank statements produces what accountant's call historical data, what this means is there is no way of producing real time reports before the close of the period that may enable you to make important business decisions that would effect the outcome. e.g. we do not check monies owed to you or owed by you.

Full Bookkeeping

• We perform checks and reconciliations to verify data entered is true and accurate
• We code your statements to the appropriate accounts and tax codes
• We reconcile your bank statements and credit card statements
• We convert this information into crucial financial reports (including VAT)
• We notify you of any suspect transactions
• We use a checklist so that nothing is missed
• We conduct phone meetings
• Free online support and resources
• We supply collection bags and boxes for transport of your documents
• We can also arrange couriers

Like cash accounting, this type of accounting is limited to historical data but you will receive all your supporting documentation in a folder, sorted, filed and easy to reference should you need to retrieve anything.

Full Accounting

This encompasses all your bookkeeping needs. Including compliance with government legislation requirements and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

• We sort, collate and file your documents into order
• We code your documents to the appropriate accounts and tax codes
• We enter transactions onto an accounting system
• We perform checks and reconciliations to verify data entered is true and accurate
• We notify you of any suspect transactions
• We reconcile invoices against the statements each month and tell you what you need to pay.
• We provide you with a checklist of your monthly expenses and dates to pay
• We notify you of any credits or overpayments that you may have
• We send statements to your clients at the end of each month
• We chase up any overdue or delinquent accounts. Seriously delinquent accounts can be handed over to our or your debt collectors at your discretion.
• We produce Purchases Reports
• We produce Sales Reports for you including a list of all monies owed to you
• We reconcile your bank statements and credit card statements
• We convert this information into crucial financial reports (including BAS)
• We file all documents and reports and these are returned to you collated in a folder
• We use a checklist so that nothing is missed
